Tell us about your hike
Start with the calorie calculator. Give us your weight, how far into your hike you are, how many days until your next resupply, and your budget. We size a box to what you actually need to eat.
Hunger isn't constant on a long trail. Appetite dips in the first week, then climbs hard through weeks three to five and keeps rising for months. The calculator builds that curve in, so a week-twelve box is bigger than a week-one box for the same hiker.
Rather start from scratch? The Shop walks you through breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner and hydration one step at a time.
Pick your food, one meal at a time
Each step shows real options with the price, weight and calories right on the card, so you can see what you're buying. Add what you want, then we ask about add-ons: a nut butter packet with your oatmeal, instant coffee, an extra pouch of tuna with dinner.
Everything is adjustable. Our suggested amounts are a starting point scaled to the number of days you choose, and you can swap flavors, change quantities, or remove anything before you check out.
Fair pricing, at real retail cost
We charge the real retail cost of each item plus a flat 10%. That's it. Trail-town outfitters commonly mark up individual resupply items 25 to 50% over what the same items cost at a normal store, and that gap is what we're trying to close.
Everything is sold as the sealed, name-brand package you'd find in a store. Oatmeal, ramen, instant coffee, trail mix, jerky and pepperoni are priced by the packet, pack, bag or stick, so you pay for exactly the number you'll eat, not for a whole case you'll have to carry or give away.
Every item shows its price per unit and its weight before you add it, so there are no surprises at checkout.
Dehydrated and freeze-dried dinners
Dinner is the heaviest cost and the most calories, so it's where the choices matter. Freeze-dried meals from brands like Mountain House, Backpacker's Pantry and Peak Refuel weigh almost nothing, keep for a long time, and need only boiling water. Add water, wait a few minutes, and eat straight from the pouch.
On a tighter budget, ramen, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese bring the cost down while still delivering the calories. Mix and match across the week: a freeze-dried dinner after a big day, ramen with a protein pouch on an easy one.
Packing your box
Your items are packed together in a single box, with everything from your order in it. Every product has a known weight, so we know exactly what your box weighs before it ships.
Food arrives in its original sealed manufacturer packaging. We don't open or repackage it.

Shipped to your next trail town
Send your box wherever you plan to resupply: a post office that holds General Delivery mail, or a hostel or outfitter that accepts hiker packages. Pick the stop, then plan for the box to arrive a few days before you do.
That's the whole idea of a mail drop. You walk in, pick up your box, and your food for the next stretch is waiting.

Half our profit goes back to the trail
We split profit 50/50 with organizations that keep these trails open, maintained and welcoming. Every box you order helps fund the people doing that work.
